2024 Meetings
For our November 8, 2024, luncheon pre-registration and payment for lunch is required, by 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 31, 2024. PLEASE NOTE THIS REGISTRATION DEADLINE.
We meet at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Roseville, 2540 Cleveland Ave, Roseville, MN 55113. Doors open at 11am, lunch is served at 11:15am and the program starts promptly at 11:30am.
Our speaker on Friday, November 8, 2024, is Colonel Gary Carlberg (Ret.), a passionate historian and son of Union Civil War veterans, is on a noble quest. As Commander and Researcher, he’s tirelessly working to identify the final resting places of all Civil War veterans buried in Minnesota.
His distinguished military career, including high-level roles at the Pentagon from 2008 to 2020, has equipped him with the experience and dedication needed for this important mission. Carlberg’s presentation, “Operation Headstone,” sheds light on a statewide collaboration with the American Legion, VFW, and other organizations to ensure these brave soldiers receive the proper recognition and honor they deserve by providing headstones for hundreds of unmarked graves.
In his retirement, Carlberg’s passion for history extends beyond his research. He enjoys reenacting his great-grandfather, Major General Meade and continues to serve his community as a FEMA Reservist.
Note that only paid registrants are allowed at the meeting and walk-ons are not permitted. Because of the Club’s financial obligations, attending to only listen to the speaker without a paid registration is not an option. Walk-ins are not permitted.
